The Encyclopedia of Douchey Business Words for Therapists

$25.00

The therapist’s guide to understanding the business shit no one ever explained.

187 business terms. Translated for therapist brains. Without requiring you to get an MBA just to understand what the fuck everyone is talking about.

At some point, someone is going to start talking to you about CAC, EBITDA, conversion rates, positioning, lead generation, market demand, unit economics, or approximately 181 other things nobody bothered to explain in grad school.

And you are going to think:

What the fuck are you talking about?

That is exactly why this exists.

This actually started in grad school.

When I was getting my MBA, I started keeping a document for myself.

Because I would sit in class listening to people casually throw around business terms like everyone had emerged from the womb understanding what EBITDA meant, while my therapist brain was trying to translate all of it into normal fucking English.

A lot of the terminology felt unnecessarily complicated.

Some of it felt pretentious.

And frankly, a lot of it felt a little douchey.

So I started translating it for myself.

What does this actually mean? What would this look like in the world of therapy? And do we seriously need this many fucking acronyms?

Years later, that grad-school document has evolved into a 107-page encyclopedia containing 187 business terms, written specifically for therapists.

Turns out my therapist brain wasn't the only one that needed a translator.

Inside, you'll find 187 terms like...

CAC. ROI. EBITDA. Conversion. Positioning. Market Demand. Lead Generation. Revenue Streams. Profit Margin. Product-Market Fit. SEO. Buyer Psychology. Scalability. Unit Economics. Thought Leadership.

And a whole fucking lot more.

But this isn't just a list of definitions you could Google.

Every term is broken down into:

Douchebag Definition: The legitimate business definition, because sometimes you actually do need to know what these people mean.

Normal English: What they could have fucking said in the first place.

Therapist Example: What the concept actually looks like when applied to private practice, consulting, trainings, digital products, speaking, organizations, and the other ways therapists can make money.

Where It Fits in VIB: Whether the concept connects to Visibility, Idea, Business Plan, or some combination of the three.

You are not supposed to memorize this shit.

This is a reference, not another textbook.

The entire encyclopedia is organized alphabetically, with a hyperlinked table of contents so when your CPA says something you don't understand, a consultant starts speaking Business Bro™, or some man on LinkedIn uses seven acronyms in one paragraph, you can open the encyclopedia, find the term, figure out what the fuck they're talking about, and move on with your life.

You don't need to become a business expert.

You just need the language to stop being a barrier.

Because therapists already know how to learn complicated shit.

You understand human behavior, clinical decision-making, ethics, systems, documentation, diagnosis, treatment, and about a thousand other things that would make the average business person's head spin.

Business is not uniquely beyond you because somebody decided to call “how people find you” customer acquisition.

You are allowed to understand the money.

You are allowed to understand the strategy.

You are allowed to ask better questions.

And you are allowed to know exactly what the fuck everyone is talking about.
